What Made Maddy Run - Parent Presentation - Verona

The Verona Public Schools is honored to host a presentation by Kate Fagan, New York Times bestselling author of What Made Maddy Run, on April 1st from 7:00 to 8:00 PM in the VHS auditorium. This evening event is open to the entire public. We welcome all parents, students, and community members to join us in opening up dialogue around mental health and teens. Kate Fagan, former ESPN sports reporter and the author of What Made Maddy Ru, the story of Maddy Holleran. Maddy was a bright, talented, and kind young lady from Bergen County, NJ who sadly and tragically took her own life while at the University of Pennsylvania. Fagan describes Maddy's life as a backdrop to examine societal factors such as the competitive pressures school, concerns about self-identify, and the maintenance of social media. Her book takes an honest look at the stigma of mental health and the split realities that adolescents often live.
This presentation is open to the public, but registration is requested.
