PreSchool Program

UPDATE 11/20/2020:  We are not accepting new students at this time.  We are also not anticipating accepting new students after the holiday break.  To add your child to our waitlist for the 2020-2021 school year, please email us at specialservicesdept@millburn.org, with your child's full name, birth date, telephone, and email.  Applications for the 2021-2022 school year will be available on this webpage beginning January 2021.

The Millburn Township Public Schools’ Preschool Integrated Program is located at the South Mountain Elementary School, 2 Southern Slope Drive, Millburn.

The unique program is comprised of children with special needs as well as typically developing preschool children from the township. A general Preschool Curriculum is followed by all students. The District charges a monthly fee for the comprehensive services that are provided for all regular education students attending the Integrated Preschool Program.

All preschool sessions are two and one-half hour classes, Monday through Friday. The three-year-old program runs in the morning from 8:15 am to 10:45 am.  The four-year-old program runs in the afternoon from 12:15 pm to 2:45 pm.

Regular education students must submit an application for eligibility for the preschool program. Applicants must be three years of age on or before October 1 of the year they will attend, and fully toilet-trained as of the start of school in September.  The four-year-old program is automatically populated with returning students from the previous three-year-old class. Applications for four-year-old students will be accepted solely for placement on a waitlist. If an opening becomes available due to a student leaving the program, the waitlist is utilized.
