Board of Education Meetings -- General Information

  • Board of Education meetings are open to all Millburn/Short Hills residents. They are held twice a month on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. Most meetings are held at the Board of Education Building at 434 Millburn Avenue (enter the High School parking lot - the Education Center is opposite the high school building).

  • When you enter the Education Center there will be a table with handouts. Pick up the Agenda, Minutes, Personnel Report and other documents that will be discussed during the meeting so you may follow along.

  • Public Comment
    • The Agenda contains two sessions for public comment. The first session is usually only for comments about board agenda items. The second session is open to new and old business. There may also be a public comment session after a special presentation for questions or comments specific to that topic.
    • A participant must announce their name, place of residence and group affiliation, if appropriate.
    • Each statement will be limited to 3 minutes, or longer, only if determined by the presiding officer.
    • No participant may speak more than once on the same topic until all others who wich to speak on that topic have been heard.
    • All statements shall be directed to the presiding officer; no participant may address or question Board members individually.

  • Answers to questions asked at a BOE meeting will be posted on the Q&A page before the next meeting. Answers to other comments/questions that need research or further investigation are posted on our website. https://www.millburn.org/apps/pages/BOE_Q_and_A

  • We encourage public comments at our Board of Education meetings.  If you have questions or comments about a school issue, please reach out to the appropriate staff member who may address your concern.  Board members are available via email if you need to contact them.

  • The Board of Education pages on the district website at www.millburn.org  contain a wealth of information and documents, including all School District Policies and Regulations, Meeting agendas and minutes, Committee minutes and School Budgets.
