English as a Second Language (ESL) Department

The Millburn ESL Program understands the importance of building upon the individual background and skills that each student brings to the classroom.  Pride in students' languages and cultures is reinforced, while language proficiency skills are taught with sensitivity and understanding. The program emphasizes skill development in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and cultural awareness.  Our program is designed to provide Multilingual Learners (MLs) with instruction that will lead to mastery of the skills necessary to function in an all English program.  Opportunities are provided to build and strengthen the connection between home and school.
