School Board Elections
The Annual School Election to vote for candidates for the Millburn Board of Education will be included in the General Election on November 4, 2025.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: A-5117, a bill that increases the number of signatures needed on a nominating petition for a board of education election from 10 to 25 signatures, has been signed by the Governor on Feb. 3, 2025. The requirement is retroactive to Jan. 1, 2025. and all future elections would need to include 25 signatures.

Election Information
Three board seats with three-year terms will be on the ballot in November 2025.
The deadline for submission of the 2025 November school board election nominating petitions to the county clerk for both individual and joint filings is the last Monday in July, 7/28/25.
Interested residents may download the individual candidate nominating petition, the joint/bracket nominating petition or pick up a hard copy of the nominating petition at:

IMPORTANT UPDATE: As of July 19, 2022, the Office of the Essex County Clerk will NOT be accepting electronic petitions. The acceptance of electronic petitions was dependent upon the continuing of the Public Health Emergency as initially declared by Governor Murphy by Executive Order 103 and continued by subsequent Executive Orders. As Governor Murphy, by Executive order 244, has now terminated the Public Health Emergency declared in Executive Order 103, all Executive Orders and P. L. 2020, c. 55. Electronic petitions are no longer applicable, and their authority allowing for electronic petitions was also terminated with the termination of the previously declared Public Health Emergency.
Completed and notarized nominating petitions must be filed with the Essex County Clerk's Elections Division - 495 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Newark no later than 4:00 PM on the last Monday in July
